What exactly is PlayKPS and Keep Playing Sports?

PlayKPS or KPS is a national network of competitive sports events (leagues, tournaments, etc). KPS does not operate individual league or tournament games. KPS is a network of individually run leagues and tournaments and all individual league and tournament questions should be directed to that particular league/tournament director. 'Keep Playing Sports' is an independent league/tournament that is within the PlayKPS network ad is for highly competitive amateur athletes across the country. 

The KPS Network is designed to bring competitive players and teams together from all ends of the country. PlayKPS does not operate and is not liable for the activities in partner leagues/tournaments, including 'Keep Playing Sports' events. The KPS Network posts event information, brings athletes together and creates a social community for the best amateur athletes across the country. The KPS Network is based online at www.PlayKPS.com. What is the level of play throughout KPS?

The level of play throughout the KPS national network varies by the individual leagues and tournaments within KPS. Most of the events are highly competitive with the average experience level being close to that of a D2 collegiate athlete in some of the top leagues. Several KPS athletes have played overseas professionally and in large D1 colleges.  There are also many players who do not have that level of playing experience, but are excellent athletes.  Athletes join the KPS network leagues and tournaments for the excitement and challenge of playing at an extremely organized and competitive level.

With that said, KPS also provides opportunities for the recreational player. This level offers most of the benefits of KPS at a recreational level. 

How old do I have to be to participate in KPS?

To participate in the KPS National Finals Tournament and events associated or leading up to that event, you must be at least 18 years old at the time of the event start date. Does KPS keep stats on every player?

Full stats are kept for every game and every player in most of the top leagues within KPS. They are sortable by team, player and region. The KPS stats page can be seen here. 

Do players receive jerseys?

Yes, players receive reversible jerseys at a discounted price for registering with KPS. They are yours to keep when the league is over to use in other leagues and tournaments as well as future KPS events.

Are there prizes, winnings, trophies or championship games in KPS?

KPS offers a Regional and National Tournament structure for leagues and tournaments participating within the KPS national network. Teams from all across the country compete to become the KPS National Champion. Apparel, trophies, cash prizes and/or medals are often awarded to individual leaders and team champs.

What type of recognition will I get if I play in KPS?

You will get the recognition you earn and deserve in KPS. League leaders are recognized on the KPS website. Last year, KPS had players that went onto to professional play after terrific performances. KPS is now working with professional and overseas scouts to keep a close eye on KPS athletes.  This is your chance to shine.

How does the KPS Regional & National Tournament structure work?

Teams will play in their regional events. The top teams from each event are invited to the Yearly Regional and National Tournaments.

Does KPS hold tryouts?

Each regional league or tournament is responsible for building their league and keeping the desired talent level.  KPS separates events into different levels.  The 'Top Gun level' KPS Competitive league is a highly competitive amateur league designed for those who can play at the highest, non-professional level. Those desiring a more recreational play; can participate in the KPS Recreational leagues!

How is KPS different from other sports leagues or tournaments?

KPS is the most competitive and organized network of leagues in the country.  KPS works with leagues to offer score and stat keepers at the games to track each player’s performance over the course of the season.  These stats are uploaded onto the KPS website so players and fans can track their performance.  The KPS website, including player stats is also accessible by various scouts for those players who seek exposure.  Athletes are also provided with their own high-quality jersey at a discounted price.  Most importantly, some of the KPS Competitive leagues offer players the opportunity to compete against some of the best amateur athletes across the country.  

Will KPS provide a coach?     

No, KPS does not provide a coach for any team.   If teams wish, they may provide themselves with a coach. Rules may vary by individual league or tournament.

What are the rules for KPS sports?

Rules & Regulations in KPS leagues and events may vary slightly by region. Check with individual leagues or events for details.

How can I buy pictures or video clips of myself or other players and games?

Can I recruit teams for KPS events?

Do scouts come to KPS games or show interest in KPS players?

Yes. KPS and its athletes are getting more and more respect and recognition from scouts and other organizations, both nationally and internationally. There is no guarantee that scouts will see your performance, however, KPS works with many different scouts and organizations to push our athletes forward to the next level. What type of gyms/facilities does KPS use?

Who does KPS use as officials? Can I become a KPS official?

KPS works with its partner leagues and tournaments to use high-caliber officials with proven experience. If you are interested in becoming an official for KPS or would like to suggest new officials for KPS to use, please let us know.

PLAYER REGISTRATION

What is the cost to play in a KPS event?

The cost to participate in a KPS sport varies by each sport and region. Go to the player registration area of the website for more details on each league, including the player cost. Check with individual leagues or events for additional pricing details.

I want to play in KPS, but I don’t have a team, can I still join?

No problem! You may register as a free agent. Other teams can pick you to be on their team or you will be put on a team made of other free agents.

How do I join a current team or create a new team to play in KPS?

Visit the registration page on the website to register as an individual/free agent, join a current team or to create and register a new team.

What is the KPS Refund policy?

In order to ensure proper scheduling, KPS cannot issue any refunds to players within 30 days of a KPS event start date. Players play at their own risk and are aware of the caliber of play they are entering into. Players will not receive a refund if they or their teammates fail to participate in league games for any reason. There may be additional refund policies in KPS leagues and events that may vary by region. Check with individual leagues or events for details.

KPS will refund products only for unopened or items that remain in a re-sellable condition.

What is KPSTV?

KPS-TV is the media-based division of KPS that was created to produce more exposure for KPS athletes and partners. KPS-TV works with photographers and videographers from around the country to include more media in the games and to have additional photo/video interaction on the KPS website. KPS-TV also works with top musical artists for KPS After-Parties. Additionally, KPS is currently working with a prominent television company in creating a reality/documentary series about KPS and its unique athletes. All of this is working to add tremendous exposure to KPS athletes and partners!

What other products/services does KPS offer?

KPS offers sports products and services for the amateur athlete. KPS currently offers a network of highly competitive and organized sports leagues and tournaments. In addition, KPS offers nutritional and sports products/supplements, apparel, professional sporting and entertainment tickets, fitness accessories and team/group travel links. KPS will soon offer additional sports apparel and merchandise.
